City of Collegedale Building Inspections, Codes & Safety

The Building, Codes, and Safety Department is responsible for issuing permits and inspecting structures constructed in the City of Collegedale. Codes enforcement and compliance is another responsibility of the department.

The City of Collegedale currently enforces the following codes:

- The 2003 Editions of the International Residential Code and the International Energy Conservation Code
- The 2006 Editions of the International Building Code, International Plumbing Code, International Fuel/Gas Code, International Mechanical Code, and International Fire Code (with addendums). 
- The 2005 National Electric Code (NEC)
