Vice Mayor Tim Johnson

Biography

Tim was elected as a City Commissioner in March of 2001 and currently holds the position of Vice Mayor for the City of Collegedale. Tim gladly serves the citizens of Collegedale.

Tim works full time for Cigna as a National Account Manager. He has been employed by Cigna approximately 40 years. Tim’s experience includes: a strong background in business and proven leadership that has benefited our city. He has approximately 40 years in business experience in: people management, project leadership, as well as, budget planning and expense management.

Tim and Cindy moved to Collegedale in 1996. They are very proud to have raised their children, Jessica and Ashley here. Cindy is employed by SAU as an Associate Professor of Nursing for the School of Nursing. Tim is devoted to spending time with his family.

Tim is no stranger to Collegedale. For approximately 18 years, Tim has served on the Tri-Community Fire Department Board as an Officer. Currently, Tim responds on medical calls with TCFD as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT). In addition, Tim has over 18-years of supporting the community by volunteering within the City of Collegedale. Tim volunteered as an EMT Tri-Community Ambulance Service for six years and as a Reserve Police Officer for the City of Collegedale for eight years.

Tim is focused on bringing steady retail growth to the city along with public transportation. He would like the City to be self-sufficient and meet the needs of the citizens. Tim has a vision for free public transportation that would run through the city stopping at major areas (SAU, apartments, 4-Corners, Greenbriar, our retirement centers, etc). The shuttle would transport individuals free to our 4-Corner area, Greenway, and over to Lee Highway. He would like to have a "Green" type vehicle for transportation, such as, an electric shuttle.
