Land Use Plan
What the Plan Will Do
Once adopted, the general Land Use Plan is the primary policy guide for the future development of the city. The plan establishes the overall character, extent, and location of various land uses and serves as a guide to citizens, the business community, developers, and others involved in the development of Collegedale. In addition, the plan serves as a guide to the Planning Commission and City Commission in making recommendations and decisions concerning future zoning and development.

The initial data collection for the planning process began in October 2012. A series of stakeholder meetings will be announced to allow crucial public input into the future growth of our city. After obtaining public input, planning staff will presented a draft plan to citizens, elected officials, and other stakeholders for comment and amendment as necessary. It was presented to the Planning Commission for a formal recommendation of adoption by the City Commission. The Land Use Plan was adopted on February 24, 2016.
