Municipal Floodplain Zoning Ordinance

Collegedale's Municipal Floodplain Zoning Ordinance was enacted to promote and protect the public health, safety, and general welfare of the citizens from the hazards of flooding. The code sets standards that must be met prior to any structure being built in a flood hazard area. The flood code also allows federally subsidized flood insurance to be made available to the property owners in Collegedale.

Flood Hazard Area Development Permit

Flood Hazard Area Development Permit must be submitted and filed with the Building Department prior to all development activity to assure the city and the property owner that all applicable flood code standards have been met. The term "development" is defined in the Municipal Floodplain Zoning Ordinance as follows: "Development" means any man-made change to improved or unimproved real estate, including, but not limited to, buildings or other structures, mining, dredging, filling, grading, paving, excavating, drilling operations, or storage of equipment or materials.
