Obtaining Reports

Police reports, traffic crash reports, and other related documents can be obtained by contacting the Records Division of the Collegedale Police Department or by visiting the request form.  Some crash reports can be purchased online through the Tennessee Department of Safety & Homeland Security.

Background Checks

The Collegedale Police Department can perform a local background check for individuals.  Visit City Hall during normal business hours to fill out a background request form.  For a statewide background check contact the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.  For a national background check contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Military or law enforcement agencies needing a background check conducted can visit City Hall during normal business hours or send by fax at (423) 396-3138 or email the request form to the police department records clerk.

Police Impound Management

All questions regarding impounded vehicles and other impound related matters can be obtained by contacting the Collegedale Police Department’s Impound Manager at (423) 468-1878 or by email

Property & Evidence Custodian

All questions regarding seized property and evidence and other property related matters can be obtained by contacting the Collegedale Police Department’s Property and Evidence Custodian at (423) 468-1878 or by email.
