Elections

The City of Collegedale holds an election every two years. Our Board of Commissioners consists of five city-wide at large seats and they serve staggered four year terms; our Municipal Court Judge serves an eight-year term. The first meeting after an election, the Board of Commissioners elects a mayor and vice-mayor from among themselves who then serve a two-year term until the next election.

The Board of Commissioners set policy and establishes ordinances as the Legislative Branch of Government and appoints and supervises a city manager who serves as the chief administrative officer and heads the executive branch. The municipal judge serves as the head of the judicial branch.
