Collegedale police officers are trading in their gold badges for pink ones during the month of October to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer, and to show support for all breast cancer patients and organizations that are on the front line fighting this deadly disease.

During the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and from this year forward, all Collegedale officers will be wearing their specialized badges as a symbol of the department’s commitment to stand arm in arm with the families of the fighters in this community and the countless others across the great State of Tennessee.

“So many families have been affected by this disease in so many ways,” Chief Sapp said. “It is an honor to participate in a campaign like this. We invite everyone in our community to stand with us all and to help us raise awareness about the need for important research and early detection of breast cancer.”
