Collegedale, TN – The Collegedale Police Department has released the parking and traffic plans for the city’s upcoming Freedom Festival, scheduled for Wednesday, July 3.

Admission to the city’s annual Independence Day celebration is free, however most parking areas will be charging drivers to park to benefit local youth organizations or to off-set the maintenance cost to allow attendees to park on private property. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early and to pre-plan their parking and routes home at the end of the night. It is strongly suggested that drivers choose a parking area that is closest to the route they’ll need to leave by.

Attendees are instructed to remember the social media hashtag: #TurnRight. All traffic will be directed to turn right out of their parking areas and away from the city center, traditionally known as Four Corners.

Typically, the maximum time to clear the majority of the vehicle traffic out of the city has been one hour. Please be patient with the officers as they clear the streets and parking areas as quickly as possible.

“The Freedom Festival has become a Collegedale standard over the years and many people from across the region come out to experience the celebration” said Chief Jack Sapp. “Let’s work together to keep this a safe event for everyone.”

For this year’s Freedom Festival the Collegedale Police Department is partnering with the local Samaritan Center for back-to-school supplies for our local schools and the Apison Food Pantry for non-perishable food items. We will be providing multiple opportunities to Pack-A-Patrol Car. Collegedale police cruisers will be located at our Child Check-In and Medical Service tents. The public and celebration attendees are asked to enjoy the celebration and help their community at the same time by bringing school supplies and non-perishable food items to pack in these patrol cars!
