City of Collegedale

Starting today, you may see researchers from UTC along our greenway who are going to be monitoring environmental conditions and counting the number of users over the next year. Since Collegedale is one of the fastest growing cities in the area, they are particularly interested in how our residents and visitors are using the greenway and how usage varies throughout the different seasons.

The team from UTC will be installing 10 environmental sensors along the greenway to record temperature and humidity data for one year, and student research assistants will be out on the greenway to record usage patterns 1-2 times a week.

During this time, researchers will not approach you or ask questions of anyone on the greenway. As the project progresses, they will be sharing their findings with us.
